Spring was waking up as we ran. We had no idea the friends who would greet us on the Erie Canal Trail.
20 miles of Spring—what a blessing.
To watch the sunrise, to notice creation, and to enjoy the opportunity of another day. Thank you body for another long run. Thank you mind for staying kind.
What did you notice on your run?
20 Miles of Spring To notice a baby beaver it's head out of the water His small tail slaps then dives deep—disappears before our eyes. To notice a blue heron still by the bank— breakfast time. A hawk high on a branch waits for her morning snack. To notice a deer out from the treeline curious of the sound Two runners feet hitting the ground. To notice the best part about a run. My heart is full, big as the sun.
“a baby beaver” Now try to say that 10x fast! LOL…I could hardly say it once.
Lovely poem...
I'm constantly amazed at how similar our surroundings seem to be despite the obvious physical distance separating us... Watching a baby beaver is truly a highlight - I'm happy you had the experience.
Thank you for the great poem this morning. We're blessed here in Eastern Washington State with birds, so Spring has brought out a chorus of bird song to listen to on runs. Between ring neck pheasants, California quail and a myriad of other bird species vying for control of the air and ground space, it's a chatty, delightful noise.
