A few months back I offered our Friday Write Together group a writing prompt:
If you could wave a magic wand over your life, what would happen?
I wrote how I would wave a magic wand over my husband, Jeff.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo— He’s fully recovered from the chemotherapy-induced Raynaud's phenomenon, brain fog, neuropathy, stomach discomfort, and hearing loss.
There are delayed toxic effects of these chemotherapy drugs that no one wants to talk about. I’m seeing it firsthand and I want a magic wand! (sounds reasonable, right?)
I wish his healing was linear and he was seeing progress every day. But the truth is, he’s not and it’s hard.
Maybe you want a magic wand too for yourself or someone you love.
All I can offer you is what I’m bringing nearer to me during this season— acceptance, patience, courage, grace, joy, and Jesus. He will see us through and I will have another book to write on the other side.
Please share this with someone who may benefit. Take good care.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo One day great, the next day in the dumps. Healing isn’t a straight line it’s full of humps. Up and down, highs and lows. We want progress every day— yet it can be slow. Where’s the magic wand? Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo— We could use a fairy godmother or two. One step forward, two steps back. Trust the process. Stay brave— as you unpack. The pain you’ve carried, Would you set it at His feet? He’s the great physician— And has saved you a seat.
Write Together Friday—is this Friday! (sorry about the incorrect date yesterday)
