We write because we have a story to tell 
We write because we have healing to do. 

We write to explore what we seek
to understand. 

We write because it gives us a chance
a way in— to create change. 

We write to keep from drowning in the
swirling eddies of runaway emotions
and irrational thoughts. 
 
We write because our wild mind needs 
a place to rest. We face ourselves on paper. 

I write to overcome the crippling fears that 
I have accumulated over the years of being 
in an abusive relationship, and to re-discover myself.

We write because it gives us a moment 
to notice, to pay attention to our life. 

We write because if we don't it builds
up and spills out somewhere. 
We have to...

We write because maybe, just maybe
our words will touch another heart 
to allow an opportunity for them.
