I had a conversation with my mother-in-law last week. I was worried about my son Brindsley. He recently fractured his clavicle and it’s been hard to “reel him in.”
She said, “let it go, worry does you no good.”
I nodded. She’s right.
I want to be that person who doesn’t worry. I want to be that person who—let’s go so easily. Yet I find it’s a daily practice—a daily deliberate practice to ask “how do I want to show up in this moment.”
Oh, how I fail. I don’t show up how I want to. GRR.
The good news is my children are here to teach me.
Today I will be deliberate— “how do I want to show up.”
How about you?
Ease and flow— Let go To the wind To the sky To the trees As I run by Decide with each stride to loosen my grip of expectations comparison and doubt. Soar like a bird— I hear myself shout. Inhale and exhale— Let go To the wind To the sky To the trees As I run by.
Ease and flow - such a great lesson! And gosh, I hope Brindsley's not too sore. 😕 Sending strength!
Great advice. Can seem to get my own feet to fly. Still earthbound with walking. Letting go is the most difficult art.
