Have you ever had a song stuck in your head, one you don’t like yet replays over and over...
What about a thought or a sentence you can’t seem to replace.
I had that problem when I woke up yesterday morning. My mind was all over the place with the most ridiculous thoughts! They were not helpful or true. My run was a battle-not to finish, but to manage my mind.
Yet I’m starting to see that my brain likes to freak out when I step out of my comfort zone or face my fear. I’m on to you brain, I hear you and we are going to be just fine!
I was glad to have time on the road to ponder, acknowledge my over-enthusiastic brain, and then fight back. Running gives me time and space to get out of my head. It’s my work worth doing-work in progress.
Could there be a thought that is stuck on replay that isn’t serving you? Just notice…
Poem of the Day:
Thoughts will come up They say 60,000 a day! I choose what to think I decide what to say Some thoughts are outdated Yucky and not true I gotta get out of my head I ask myself, does this serve you? The road gives me time to clear my head Some runs are a fight A battle to get ahead Pounding the pavement Keeps me aware What thoughts to keep What thoughts to share —Work in progress...
