Hi, My Friend!
Layer up, bring a good attitude and manage my mind. I repeated this over and over as I pulled on my running tights, grabbed the warmest socks I could find, and laced up my sneakers.
The temperature read 3 degrees. The sun was shining so bright it had to be warmer than that, right? That’s what I told myself anyways to get out the door. I don’t like being inside all day so took the sunshine as my calling to get outdoors. Now is my chance. I will feel so much better.
Bring a good attitude and manage my mind. I repeated that over and over as I pumped my arms and squinted my eyes at the bright sunshine. It’s beautiful out and It’s warmer than I thought. These two sentences kept me going as I made my way down the road.
I had plenty of layers on, the sun felt gorgeous on my face and I was aware of my thoughts. The secret recipe to finish my long run despite the weather, manage my mind and focus on the positive. I can’t control the weather but I can control my attitude and what I say to myself.
What will you say to yourself today? It matters.
Poem of the Day:
Thoughts fly in spiral all around the ones you choose to repeat matter as you hit the ground Do they serve you? Are they true? These are the questions to ask to learn more about you. You get to decide what thoughts to repeat None wrong or right yet will create how you feel no matter the condition This is the deal Be aware of your thoughts Talk to yourself like you would a friend This secret I've learned I want to pass on to you My friend.
