Lacing up

I’m still thinking about
the bald eagle— the white
head easy to spot, the 
two blue herons, one
stands tall looks out over
the canal, the other 
squats low three trees
down— waiting 
and then 
a hawk not far 
perched on the upper 
branches.  
Four magnificent birds 
all gathered  
on the treetops as 
we run past— 
In Awe
In Wonder 
In Joy
