My son Brindsley turned ten on Saturday. Where does the time go?
I think I will share this poem with him when he is older.
I’ve found that when I can’t find the words, I remember…is always a great place to start.
Have a fabulous Monday!
Julie
Looking Back I remember the first time you sat on your balance bike. Helmet on, blankie wrapped around your neck. You zoomed around the room, amazed at what your legs could do. I remember you outside—Matchbox cars all in line. Your cheek pressed against the pavement for a closer view. Your eyes widen at what the car could do. I remember snack time too. Sitting against the window, blue bowl on your lap— Kole, our black lab, right beside you taking a nap. I remember Trips to the playground, swings and slides—what a thrill you dragging your blankie behind you as we walked up the hill. I hugged you in my arms and together we rolled down, your laughter and giggles— never a frown. I remember It was just like yesterday. You sat in your highchair as we sang happy birthday. Ten years came quick, and this Mama won’t be heartsick. Yet, the tears will come because time won’t stop. I’ll cherish today— Brindsley’s double-digit birthday.
