Today’s poem is inspired by our very cold, windy 5K run on Sunday. My children did amazing! Despite the weather, they brought a great attitude and finished. They ran for hot chocolate and donuts. Me— hot coffee. :)
Mama, They Will Be Okay The waves are rolling— the wind is fierce— will they be okay? “Do we still want to run?” My kids nod their heads, “yes, it will be fun!” We grab our hats and gloves— fabric tube to protect our faces. “Let’s hurry” as the wind chases. Christmas lights shine bright in red, green, and white. Their eyes peek out like a deer in headlights. “Mama, it’s so dark, look at the stars.” My racing mind brought to a crashing halt. I grab their hands and look up too. “Thank you my sweet children for being present and strong.” They will be okay— lights on the lake run here we come!
Psalm 119:32
I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.
If there is one thing I know, it’s that they will be okay. Look at all you are teaching them!❤️
