Good morning!
I’d like to welcome new folks who’ve joined the Run to Write Community! It’s so great to have you here. I hope to see your face at one of the writing group meet-ups this month. Check the bottom of the post for dates and times.
I want to share a huge win for our family this week—my husband Jeff is cancer free!
We saw the oncologist for the second time since his chemo ended and the scans and bloodwork are clear—Thank you, Lord!
Jeff, I know you don’t like to run yet this season you finished a marathon. You paced yourself—one step at a time— managed your mind, and crossed the finish.
We are here cheering you on for the next part of your race—Comeback! You got this.
AND kids are back to school. FREEDOM! :)
Tell me something awesome that happened this week?
Life is a marathon a mindset I say Long-term view helpful each day Ups and downs certain come what may No shortcuts— one foot in front of the other is the way Training for living Patience— A? Trust the process— when you want to quit—stay. Pace it, don't race it a mantra to say Life is a marathon Let's go Yay!

Such wonderful, wonderful news, Julie and Jeff - that's fantastic to hear! Hope the kids are enjoying being back at school. Your poem is fabulous.
An awesome thing that I have to report is that the shared deep grief of a whole nation and beyond at the sudden loss of our Queen is bringing so much love, understanding and hope to the fore. These are extraordinary times. People don't know what to feel - I certainly don't, apart of course from a profound sadness - but there is a lot of talking going on between families, friends and strangers through our many tears, and immeasurable empathy and compassion all around. And that IS awesome, despite the circumstances being so very sad.
I'd been looking forward to joining you on Zoom tonight, but 6pm BST (1pm EST) is exactly when I'll be watching the King address the nation for the first time. Catch up soon! :D
So glad to hear about Jeff and that he is doing well. Love reading your poems!
