             MOTHER RUNNER

Morning ritual, sneakers laced 
Out the door, fresh air on her face 
Thankful children are still asleep 
Halleluia! Her space to be 
Escape from the to-do list 
Responsibility free. 

Radiates her heart, let’s go of control
Upbeat spirit fills her lungs—
Nature to run with fills her soul 
Nimble minded in motion and thought
Empowered with each breath 
Relax & Run—you are enough.
