Toads! I used to see them daily in Michigan, not so often in Austin (except in non-living form . . .) Thanks for the childhood reminder of the "pick up a toad, and you'll get warts" warning. So funny! Did he hop away while you were writing? Love that visual! Have the best week, Julie.
Your poem reminds us
Sentience deserves respect
Yes, live and let live...
Thank you, Clark. I hope you had a wonderful July 4th and weekend.

Hi Mary B! I'm so happy to hear you also heard "pick up a toad, you'll get warts." Very funny!
The toad did hop away but I like to believe he sat with me awhile as I wrote. If toads could talk...
Have an amazing week!
wow, what a picture. Yes in Panama as tropical and rainforest land , the region called Gamboa, is full of Toads. Beautiful , as the one here.
Very cool, Renate. Toads are fun to spot when I'm hiking around. Thank you for coming today. I'm sorry I had to leave early. It wasn't planned.
see you Julie
Thanks, Julie B! Around our home is a plethora of very small…almost black…baby toads! I wonder what they will look like when all grown up?
Baby Toads! Lucky duck! :) Keep your eye on those toadies, so fun!
