When you lace up your sneakers today…where will you go?
On the Move Once upon a time sneakers sat by the door— Peeking out through the glass window wishing to explore. “Why aren’t we outside?” “Why haven’t we been laced?” “I’m feeling cramped and isolated, in this place.” Questions lingered, worries and sadness added to their days Yet—they didn’t give up and kept their faith. “We will make it outside again, let’s keep our chin up and pray—we know troubles come yet we will find a way.” Sunshine streamed through the window. A sneaker lifted from the floor. A foot slides into the toebox like weeks before. Gentle hands snug the laces A pull that they’ve missed, thrilled to be on the move and happy to exist. “I’m awake and ready, here we go!” “Our beloved is back— let’s check out the snow.” Hear the crunch under our feet, the birdsong above. The smell of damp earth and air— oh, what freedom and love! I’ll take one step at a time, and see what I can do. If I must stop to walk. It’s okay. Keep going— God’s with you.

Such a cute poem from the eyelets of the sneakers. 😂
