        Race Day

Toe the start line— racers set
Gather together, elbow to elbow
like we’ve already met. 

The horn sounds, and off we go!
A stream of color— 
Legs and arms flow. 

Spectators line the roads 
Cheers give goosebumps to 
our toes. 

Sunshine beats down on the trees
Beautiful fall painting 
for us to see. 

Appreciation and smiles
for our body and mind— 
as we cross the finish line.
