Passed down to me
a secret family recipe 
The dish broken 
the ingredients flawed
I hold it in my hands
I must be a good girl
It’s rude to not taste it
My son and daughter
sit next to me  
Is it wise to pass
this down?
How will this feed 
their mind and soul.
Will this nourish their body 
NO—
I will skip this one
it will stop with me 
not all family recipes
are wise to pass down
