Snow was up to our ankles as we arrived on the trail. The truck that plows did not make its way through and my first response was shouldn’t this be plowed by now?
Every stride was met with snowflakes hugging our feet. It slowed us down as we ran yet the fresh fallen snow brought an overwhelming silence. My mind relaxed and my body followed. It was just what I needed.
At the end of the run, I looked down to find clumps of snow around my ankles, mini snowballs. They made me smile. What a beautiful run.
The unexpected gift of the snow covered trail…clarity, and calm during uncertainty.
What unexpected gift will you find today?
Poem of the Day:
Blanket of Snow
A blanket of snow
Is the trail
Silence is the start
Worry melts away
Fortitude fills the heart
Fear unfreezes
Mind and body move free
A blanket of snow
To run through
Each stride jumps with glee
Joy fills the soul
Calm surrounds
Snowflakes hug the body
Love and Peace are found
