Last week the snow fell heavily and my children rushed outside to play. Delaney was rolling enormous snowballs to make a snow train and Brindsley was playing football. I watched from the kitchen window.
I was making dinner… blah! and making a list in my head of what I must get done.
I rushed around and got dinner in the oven… I want to go out and play.
When I stepped outside I was greeted by snowflakes swirling, the crunch under my boots, and my children’s laughter.
I laid on my back and looked up at the magnificent snowflakes. I was in awe at how many were zooming down.
It was hard to keep my eyes open. It was hard NOT to smile. I was happy to lay on my back in the snow and be still. I was mesmerized— be still.
May you find moments of stillness today, tomorrow, and into the coming weeks.
Snowflake Joy Snowflakes cascade—joy View from the ground, light upon my eyelashes, nose Slow down to notice Rest on my back skyward—joy Changes everything.
Slow down to notice!
Yes!
Surrounded by wonder!
So beautiful! What a wonderful story, and a gorgeous poem!
