         Tune of Hope 

I can’t be quiet
the tension will 
thicken—
swell between our 
hearts and minds.
Is it worth the trouble? 
What can I give?
Should I speak up?  
Oh, the voice of fear—
I must pay attention
 “should” is a giveaway.
A song I no longer 
want to sing.   
I do have something 
to give…a little tune
