Happy Friday RWC!
Today’s poem is inspired by my win of the week—unlearning.
What’s your win for the week?
UNLEARN Unlearn hurry Pink & white along the path Wildflowers long Time to admire Whisper Slow down. Why so much haste? Hickory, Maple Generous Shade Linger under their Branches Whisper No need to race. What is so pressing? Bluejay calls Woodpecker drums Be polite Pay attention Birdsong— No rush, No rush Pause— Sing along. Nature brings me back Lean in— Unlearn hustle Nature my teacher My buddy To fight back the bustle.
When I returned from some years in Hollywood Florida, with two boys about your childrens' age, I was a rusher too!
One day, following my dad behind a tractor so he could leave it in a field, I was frustrated at how slow the car had to go. Then I looked and saw all the wonderful "weeds" on the side of the road. My heart was captured, and I fell in love again with God's Nature.
Lovely poem Julie, a great read and reminder. My win is no injuries so far heading into the Hood to Coast Relay race next Friday.
