This poem was inspired by one of my runs about a month ago. I was so excited to see the red-winged blackbirds flying about and even happier that I slowed down to notice their behavior. I had no idea when they let out their birdsong their wings puff out—so cool!
Curious what you have noticed on your runs or walks? Would love to know, share in the comments below.
Poem of the Day:
PAY ATTENTION Run the trail I look left— what caught my eye a red winged blackbird flying bye. Lands low Black wings puff out—Big He looks enormous I say. Birdsong proud I stop, stare amazed— I'm 42 just noticed now how the red-wing blackbird shows up in the world to sing I wonder— What else I will learn if I only slow down.
Love it! Birds sing with their whole body. Watching an owl hoot is mesmerizing!
Love seeing and hearing the Redwings!!
