Please restack to share with your friends on Substack. Let’s grow our movement and writing community.
I’ve learned that movement outdoors is a powerful antidote to my rumination. Instead of getting caught in thought loops, running or walking shifts my focus to—what I see, hear, and smell around me.
This simple practice changes my mindset. As I move, memories, thoughts, and ideas emerge, giving me something to write about when I get home.
While science supports this connection, I encourage you to experience it firsthand. Take a walk, stretch, run, swim, or dance—then notice what emerges. Move your body, then grab a pen and notebook.
What thoughts are now ready to flow?
Michael got us started with the writing prompt: How does movement fuel your creativity?
You’re invited!
Join us for our weekly community writing session every Monday at 11 am EST! We'll gather in silent solidarity to work on our creative projects, starting with a writing prompt to warm up.
You're welcome here if you seek accountability partners, fellow writers, or a supportive community space. After the prompt, use this focused time to advance your project in any way you like.

Creation begins
On another note Jules. Please have your creative daughter make me a bracelet in white with green inscription: May All Be Fed. Thankyou ‼️
I love this idea... I need to do most of my moving/writing work before 5 pm my time, which is 11 am in your world. I will use the prompts, and keep a journal for my 7 days - it's a fabulous idea. I'm happy to share whatever I come up with, but I'm not sure where that would be...
