Twister Even the most crafted words— considered sentences will be Twisted Your voice denied useless as a glass hammer Why go to an empty well for water?
I wrote this poem a while ago.
Does it seem dispiriting?
I haven’t shared it because I thought it did. Yet the more I read it, the more I see empowerment. I even see peace.
I can let go.
I can choose honest, kind boundaries. I can decide to be a peacemaker. I can listen to my still small voice, instead of the pleaser.
I can only control my actions, responses, and no one else’s.
I’m not saying it’s easy…
Yet we can choose to go to the empty well or not.
What will you choose?

This reminds me of my old mentor, Frank. He says it's not up to us to change people. God does that. But we all have a story that is uniquely ours. That is what we can offer. God can use that.
Oh, so good, Julie! Powerful, indeed. I choose the empty - less of me, more of Him, none of me, all of Him. "Laying crowns down at His feet" is a powerful thing. I'm just starting my day and this was such a great thing to read for me. Thank you!
