Julie B. Hughes, you are a true champion. In strength and Spirit. I smiled as I remembered Neil Young’s classic “Long May You Run.”

Hi Gary, what a classic! Thank you for mentioning it and for the kind remarks. This one certainly tested my strength and was grateful to have so many run buddies with me to keep me going. Hope you and Beth are well.

Convenience beckons

But choose the road less traveled

A "life worth breathing"

Jules, the photo of you crossing the creek is priceless. Frolicking in nature. You pay true homage to the indigenous people on whose land we "moderns" desecrate 24/7/365. Will we ever wake up from our "Sleep of Convenience" in time? Thanks for leading the way Jules. May your life continue to be your compelling message: Courage Over Convenience.

Hi Clark, Another briliant poem and I love "Courage over convenience" (perhaps a great book title in your future)

Thank you for your encouragement and I do love that photo! It makes me laugh. The photographer was excellent.

HA! I'm sure you're not alone. :) During my training, there were so many rainy day runs. It prepared me well for these creek crossings. Thanks for reading along Richard. Curious, do you have another poetry collection in the works?

Why thank you for asking Julie. I have more books I COULD publish. The thing is, poetry books from small publishers don't sell. And establishment publishers want establishment-approved poets. So my plan is to publish a famous novel and then piggyback the next book of poems on it. Should be easy, don't you think? : )

"nature's power and my own small place within it" - so good, Julie. I love that sentence and its sentiment. I know that feeling, too, being part of something in the physical and the spiritual. Can't wait to read what's next! And good for you for running through the water, injury/accident free! Go you!
