An old Hasidic teaching states that “there are ten levels of prayer and above them is Song.” Delaney, may you soon feel 💯 % and partake in music and dance and song. Amen❗️
Thank you Olga for the well wishes. I was so happy the fever finally left and last night she slept without coughing so we are on the mend. YIPPEE! Thanks again and happy dancing to you.
Growing up I was imprinted with many classic carols. My mother was steeped in language studies as well as an English major. She’d sing “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” in Latin. I miss her voice. Today one of my favorites is “Mary Did You Know” by Pentatonix.
I’m glad to hear your daughter is on the mend! Normally so full of life, their illnesses place demands on our hearts and physical resources. The aroma from grinding fresh roasted coffee beans is a boost in and of itself. Have a grand day today! Maybe even a bit of dancing and twirling? Your ballerina looks fabulous, Julie.
Thank you so much Gary. Oh yes the smell of fresh roasted coffee beans is fabulous!! A wonderful SIM for me. :) Have a Terrific Tuesday! We got some sunshine today.
Sending smiles to Delaney, Julie - and of course to all of you. It's no fun being ill - I'm glad she's on the mend!
Out of all the Christmas songs I love traditional Christmas carols most of all. When I lived at home we would decorate our Christmas tree on the afternoon of Christmas Eve while listening to the BBC radio broadcast of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College, Cambridge. It was always absolutely magical!
Thank you Rebecca. Being sick is real bummer especially around this time of year. Thank you for the smiles and sharing a bit of your Christmas tradition here. It sounds lovely. :) Have a wonderful Wednesday! Sending smiles and hugs your way.
Thanks for the very kind mention, Julie! I’m sorry your daughter has been sick but happy to hear you’re both on the mend.
I do think music and dance have great healing properties--as do art and poetry, like your lovely ballerina and accompanying haiku.
Growing up, we did sing a number of Hanukkah songs, many in Hebrew, but my husband prefers serenading us with Christmas carols on his guitar. Ironically, a lot of the popular songs were written by Jews, including “White Christmas,” The Christmas Song,” and “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.”
I love that you shared this Ruth about the songs. I didn't know this and so happy to now. Thank you for reading and commenting. That's so cool your husband plays guitar. An instrument I've always wanted to learn to play. Enjoy. :)
I love the response Gail! :) Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Drawing the ballerina made me think of my childhood days on my pointe shoes.
A red letter day
Fever broke and fun haiku
And music galore

I LOVE the last line Clark..."Music galore"...Yes indeed. Thank you so much for the well wishes and haiku. She is on the mend. :)
My class danced to the Hanukkah song with strobe lights and Hanukkah menorah lights! We invited My boss and she joined us! She is Jewish.
Thanks for the dance song!
How fun Claudette! :) And what great dance songs.
I am sorry to hear that your daughter has been ill.
I hope that she will soon be feeling better.
And yay for dancing! :).

Thank you Gary! I will add that one to the list. I don't think I've heard the Pentatonix version. Your mom sounds wonderful. Hugs to you and yours.
P.S. How did you know I needed a little extra caffeine boost! :) THANK YOU!!

I agree. I love the song and Pentatonics do an amazing version.
Great! I added it on and look forward to listening to it. :) Thank you, Mom. xoxo

Drawing dancers brings
Joy and levity immense
Love the flouncy skirt

I never graduated to pointe shoes. My ties are likely grateful. 🤭
Thanks for the morning haiku opportunity. My brain loves it!
Oh yes, my toes did finally adapt but it took awhile. :) I'm so happy to read your Haikus. :)
Feel better, Delaney!
God's best for you!
Thank you Claudette! She slept through the night with no cough! Thank goodness. :) See you tomorrow. xox
