Thanks, Julie B. Hughes! Beth has been experiencing loss of balance, overall instability while walking. Her blood pressure is all over the place. Low and random. One morning on rising it was 74/40. Pulse rate is unpredictable. An MRI described a condition called leukomalacia. Some of the symptoms that can occur match her gait issues. Memory and higher order thinking frequently are affected. Some days (today) I drive her to work and to doctor appointments. I have to forgo thoughts of replacing both knees so I can continue to assist her and be a homemaker.
I know you’re no stranger to medical conditions changing dynamics in the home! Her next step is to see a neurologist and have extensive blood work.
Good morning Gary, This is a lot. I'll be keeping you both in my prayers as you navigate the medical system. I pray you'll find a wise team to help you direct her care. Sending you both hugs and strength.
Julie, I could feel the elation, pain, courage and persistence as you experienced. What a vivid description with motivation and encouragement galore. You are an inspiration in the most earnest way. 😊😊
The stuff of folklore, Julie B. Hughes! You set a fine example through both words and actions.
Hi Gary, I hope all went well today. I've been thinking of you and Beth.
Next Monday I won't be able to host, but will be back on July 7th for another write together, just fyi.

Hi Vineet, apologies for all the repeated comments. Substack is acting a bit weird today. LOL
Your words make me feel like I am there!
