Healthy skepticism is... healthy. A related situation: I was told (by a surgeon, of course) that my snapped ACL required surgery. I chose to rehab instead, kept running regularly through the injury (or at least shuffling forward, with a big brace), and ~12 years later I'm still going strong. I wrote about it on my website, here: https://www.rushofitall.com/posts/rehab-without-acl-surgery (haven't moved it over to my Substack yet).

Jeff, thank you for sharing! Yes surgeons do surgery...and that is something that will always be an option. Good for you for giving your body a chance to heal and put in the work!! I like to tell my patients do give their body a chance and do the work for 12 weeks before jumping to surgery. Surgery we can never undo. Stay well and thanks again for getting your experience out there.

I was told to stop running. It was a death sentence. Then I worked with you. You met with me, looked me in the eye and said "You can run." It took everything I had to not burst into tears in front of you. The words I had been needing to hear. The support I needed and tools I needed, you provided me with. Here it is a little over 5 years later and I've been running 🏃🏼‍♀️ 💪👊
