I have dropped “perfect”

Life is “trial and error”

You are a miracle…

Thich Nhat Hanh once said something to the effect that “the miracle is not that we walk on water, the miracle is that we walk on earth”. Since perfection prevents me from embracing life fully, I have chosen to “delete” it from my mind and stop comparing myself to any standards but my own….I am so much happier and laugh so much more…

Good morning Clark!

It's great to see another brilliant poem from you. :) Thank you for your wisdom this morning. I'm beginning to see how much this idea of "perfect" stops me trying new things. Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy New Year!

I still strive for excellence in whatever I choose to do but perfection is a non-starter for me and I find it also stifles creativity. I never spend more than five minutes on my haikus If I wanted perfection, they would never happen❗️

Good morning Julie!

Just as The Moody Blues wrote “the fury of ten billion butterfly sneezes” I hear in your words this morning such force. “Fury,” out of context may sound harsh, so remembering “butterfly sneezes” as the forces of change may help.

More simply, “Brava” for ending this year with what seems a belly full of energy, optimism, creativity, and community spirit speaks volumes.

Almost Happy New Year! Definitely a happy day.

I'm going to try to join you, Julie! I love the pic!

Am I permitted to paint instead of write during the Write Along? I'm working on my latest Art & Treasures post for tomorrow, and I'd love to have some company while I quietly paint along in order to get the art for it finished. Is that okay?

If so, I'll just go and pop the kettle on ready for 4pm (11am your time)!

Since we can never achieve perfection, making it the ultimate goal is a turnoff for some and possibly a motivating factor for others. I’d rather try to find satisfaction in the journey rather than the arrival. This isn’t a poem but a thought based on your prompt. Thanks, Julie!
