A packet of seeds We sprinkle in the moist dirt. A worm wiggles past to keep an eye on our tiny offering. We cover them with dirt and a love pat. Confidence grows Sunshine comes then rain— We wait and pick the weeds… We watch And wait We water with love And care And wait and pick the weeds… And watch and wait Will something happen from this tiny seed? Are water, sunshine, and healthy soil all they need? Will something happen Enthusiasm grows— We watch, and wait to see what will unfold? A miracle I hear a shout— A cucumber! Look at it sprout A delicious gift We receive today Thank you earth Your lessons on display.
Thank you, Rebecca, Julie, Ileana, Wendy, Linda, and Lisa for joining me on Friday. I enjoyed seeing your faces and look forward to another session this Friday 8/4 at 11 am (EST). ( I can’t believe another month is coming to an end.)
The glimmer of hope at the end is worth it✨
Such beautiful words - and cucumbers - Julie! I picked our first beans and summer squash last week, and every time I see my parents they give me another couple of cucumbers from their ever-increasing glut! Very grateful - I love them! I've popped some thick chunks into my current sauerkraut jar that's on the go - they're absolutely delicious fermented!
