Such beautiful words - and cucumbers - Julie! I picked our first beans and summer squash last week, and every time I see my parents they give me another couple of cucumbers from their ever-increasing glut! Very grateful - I love them! I've popped some thick chunks into my current sauerkraut jar that's on the go - they're absolutely delicious fermented!

Last spring in my class we ate sweet bell peppers. I let my 3 year olds cut them up with plastic knives. We ate them and then picked out the seeds and planted them. They are growing in our school garden and they pick them to eat, knowing they planted them from the peppers they ate last spring!

We ... and your kids! ... get to see the miracle! And eat them!! Yum!
