I’m an introvert. Maybe that’s why I’m having such a hard time with self-promotion and marketing my book.
I’m working hard to flip the script— “sharing is a generous act” or “you don’t have to be an extrovert to lead”.
I’m reading the book Quiet by Susan Cain to gain insight and to embrace, even love this side of me—to stop secretly wanting to be someone else.
If you’re an introvert I would LOVE to hear how you embrace your style.
Introvert Solitude is my way to recharge. I enjoy being alone… A fly on the wall I would rather be— What is wrong with me? I asked this question for years. Secretly wanting to be someone else. Yet... I've learned the name—there is nothing wrong with me. Running and writing suit me. I am happy in this space. Look at Rosa Parks, Audrey Hepburn, and J.K. Rowling. It’s okay— the world needs us too. Quiet but mighty isn’t so bad.
We will meet up again to write together this Friday 2/3/23: Click the Button below to join us on zoom at 11 am (EST).
It's taken a lifetime so far, but I have finally embraced my constant buddy, introvert. I no longer feel guilty saying "no" to people that I just don't want to spend time with. I have chosen my circle or clan, who embrace who I am, and help me feel comfortable just being the quiet person in the room. Thanks for this poem today Julie! Quiet is an amazing book.
Love "I am happy in this space"
And "quiet but mighty"
You are so lovely just as you are
