The sloth doesn’t know

What humans call him

Ignorance is bliss…

Funny how we name everything. And how we think of so much in terms of productivity or lack thereof. I once heard a student give a talk on a recent trip to a rain forest and how his group sat on a log to eat some food. They were quickly inundated by biting or stinging insects ( red ants?) and bemoaned the painful encounter until they realized they were invading the insects home. The sense that we have “dominion” over all living creatures must be reframed so that “ live and let live” becomes our way new attitude and behavior.

Excellent points, Clark. As I’ve aged my thinking looks more at Big Picture. Ecosystems. When I bought my first LED headlamp for walking our dog at bedtime, I was shocked by all the spider eyes reflected in the light. And sort of “wiggling” around, as if in pain? (Think high beams of an oncoming car.) Now, except to make way for an oncoming car, I’m glad about knowing that the grass is akin to the rainforest log. All the best to you today!

Good morning Clark,

And I love the Sloth! :) Perhaps I want to be more chill like her. LOL. Thank you as always for your wisdom and kindness. "live and let live" is a mantra to repeat. I appreciate this story you shared.

What do you do when you’re not busy? My guess is “Stay busy.” Your post today, Julie, has “Energy” written all over it. Perhaps Energy ≠ Busy so I’ll amend my earlier guess: Stay energized. Stay focused. Stay optimistic. Stay enthusiastic. Perhaps replacing the “B.” in your name with a 🐝 might hint at your qualities. This post has me buzzing. Out the door with my walking buddy, Izzie! See you at 11:00 this morning!

Sending love and thanks for continued inspiration. ❤️
