Actually I have been thinking a lot about this lately. My 101 year old Mom died last week. I brought her up from Florida to care for her these past two years. I visited her everyday for a few hours and I could not have done what I did, day in and day out if "love" was not my why. She was the best Mom to me and my brother and leaves a gaping whole in my heart. Hopefully my beautiful memories will heal me over time. Yes "love" was my why and I believe it is the root reason we are able to keep on going no matter the circumstances...💔
Clark, I'm sad to hear your Mom died last week. What a gift to be able to spend her final days with you, caring for her. I'm sending my love and lots of hugs to you and yours. xx
A fellow writer recently told me about an app to which you can upload an entire manuscript and have it read to you. There are different voices to choose from. I forgot what it is called. I can find out if this interests you.
Hi Gail! Oh my goodness, there really is an app for everything. LOL. I appreciate you mentioning this. Maybe for my next book, I will circle back to learn more about this app. That is incredible.
Have a great week, Gail and I hope you're enjoying your summer.
Love this, Julie! Yes, often we read manuscripts aloud. It’s amazing what you catch by ear. I think our brains are smart enough to add missing words so when we simply read with our eyes we fill in or adjust what’s needed.
And quite glad I did, Julie B. Hughes! Following an 8:00 am visit to my dermatologist, with one small nibble on my elbow. Results in ten days. If a cancer, bigger nibbles and visits every six months. Not every year. 🤷🏽
I hope your family’s two weeks of travel will be smooth as silk! On the “nibbling” stuff, I’ve been target practice for dermatologists a few times. Not “Life List” activities. 🌞 See you in two too, Julie B. Hughes.
"Return to the why" - that is excellent advice...a question I don't ask my distracted mind often enough. That will now change, thanks to this piece!
Reading your work aloud during editing is also a great practice. I understand its value, I do it (sometimes), and now I commit to doing it more regularly.
For me, "Love" is "Why"
Only "Love" keeps me going
Ask any mother‼️

It sure is and this is exactly what I'm noticing: "I think our brains are smart enough to add missing words..."
Thank you so much for reading and your message here.
When you get to the point where you make edits, then change them back, you know it's done.
Hi Richard! This is so good to know. I think I'm done. :) YIPPEE!! Now to the fun stuff...book cover and photos to put in the book.
I’m looking forward to 11:00 am ET!
Yay!! So happy you can join us Gary.

Hi Gary, oh, I do hope that small nibble is just that. "a small nibble" I'll see you back here in 2 weeks.

Thank you, Gary! Off we fly and unplug. :) YIPPEE!!
