I am from...

generations of Mennonites

But I'm not one

An early life in Congo, but now

I'm American

Mixing cultures

Who am I?

Wife of 42 years

Still discovering

I am from long lived folks

I'm hoping for 100 years

Maybe then I'll know

Where I'm from

I checked out a Mary Oliver book of poems from the library yesterday. Even though my intent was to read slowly, I am galloping through the poems — as is my nature when reading things I enjoy.

I mention because I appreciate the balance in your poem today — similar to Mary’s. There is just the right mix of clarity and ambiguity to touch my soul.

Thank you!

Hi Gail!

You made my day! It took me some time to figure out how to end this one. I'm glad it was just the right mix. :)

Thank you so much for your message. It's so great to hear from you and I love Mary Oliver's poems as well...hard to put her books down.
