        Scream Tunnel 

A tunnel of sound 
Enclosed by cheers
Arched with signs, my
discomfort disappears. 

Thrilling screams
Hair-raising shouts
Half way marker of 
The Boston Marathon 
No doubt. 

Awe-inspiring sight
Eyes fill with tears 
Gratitude for the crowd   
I’m racing Boston—
I’m really here.
