Not forever ago, The Pointer Sisters sang:

“I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it

I’m about to lose control and I think I like it”

That’s representative of the energy I felt in your post this morning. Maybe a Zoom dancing session for select afternoons of your week. To “trip the light fantastic,” attributed to John Milton all the way back to 1632! And he meant what the words mean today.

And I think I like it!

Happy day and hare tracks in the snow!

I LOVED the Pointer Sisters growing up. HA! That was the best song. Thank you so much Gary for reminding me of that song...is't been ages.

Happy day to you and yes lots of tracks to see this morning. :)

Your words reverse time

My aging body, pain-free

Dances to the “swing”

Thanks Jules for reciting your magic

and showing us our inner child is only

a thought away. The mind is the body and the body is the mind and as Zorba the Greek exclaims “All is the dance”❗️

I'm a fiction writer but not at all a poet.

I wish I was, as there's such power in the paucity of words. In the meantime, I shall enjoy your account and the words of others as well.

Maybe I'll begin to learn the artform...

I just found you on Substack and look forward to reading your words Prue! :) Thank you. I think you have what it takes to write poems for sure. I'm not sure what my form is...I dabble here and there but most of all I love it! Write on and hope you can join us some Friday.

Loved this poem!! Reminded me of when I was younger and roaming in the woods. My dog at my side or on my horse. Good memories! Thanks for the memory, Julie! Love you!!

Love this. Your voice and spirit remind me of my dear friend Teresa Huggins, who passed away a couple years ago. She found as much joy in nature as you do. In fact, I'm so inspired that my "hill running" for today is going to be sledding down my back hill and running up it in boots and snowpants instead of sneakers and warm up gear. I'll take a photo for you! XO Keep inspiring.

Hi Tracy,

Teresa sounds like an amazing woman and friend. I bet she will be with you today in spirit as you sled down the hill. :) YES, I can't wait to see the photo! :) What a fun playdate.
