I have caught up! I feel like I have pinned my eyes on the back of your story and reeled you in. I am delighted to be jogging alongside you to the finish. I love the running community's volunteers, the people who hold signs and cheer random strangers to do their best. And here I am too. Go Julie Go!!
Woohoo! You're amazing Linda. I'm so happy the story kept you coming back. :) The running volunteers were fantastic! It slipped my mind, but at one point on the towpath, a man was riding his bike dressed in some costume. He stopped, propped his bike then stood in the middle of the path giving us high fives. His costume...Mr. Incredible!
"Our footsteps synchronized as we pushed through mile forty-three together" - isn't that the BEST in a long race? Just love your recounting of your adventure, Julie. What an accomplishment. I also love that you and your synchronized runner shared the wish for your kids to learn the joy and love of movement outdoors. So good!
That dang broth. It's exactly what the weary body needs. Jenerous Jim 💙
I have a tough time eating when I race. Salt potatoes and broth fuel the entire thing. Isn't it wonderful to have warm, salty nourishment on a chilly, windy day?
I'm hanging on your every word, still anxious for your finish.
It sure is. I was so happy the broth and potatoes were just what my body and upset stomach needed. Perfect. Thank you so much for reading along and Happy New Year!
ALMOST to the finish - oh, you're so nearly there - now, although I have an idea of how this story will end I'm STILL on the edge of my seat reading it - you're a master of suspenseful writing!
Hoping to make it to the Write Along shortly. I'm behind on my writing (and I daren't mention my reading backlog!) so I'm hoping to reengage with it today!
Thank you so much, Mom! I was thrilled to receive this photo and a few others from Mike on FB. The photos he shared of other runners and this section of the race were fantastic.
Thank you so much for reading along and being here! Hope to see you later today on Zoom. We're here to support you. I look forward to hearing more about your project. Happy New Year!

Thank you. Love to you and Sharon.
I want some potatoes now.
That's amazing that you can still run after so many miles...
HA! I'm still eating potatoes even after all the ones on the race. LOL!
Your energy level and focus as you began the last 8 miles is palpable. Wonderful. I’ll see you eyeball to eyeball later today, Julie B. ZOOM!
Yay! We look forward to seeing you real soon. :) Thank you Gary and Happy New Year!
