Thanks Julia for the reminder that not every pain requires immediate medical attention. I am not anti western medicine and get an annual physical and vaccinations but unless there is a “twist” to your ankle story (yes terrible pun intended) I do believe the body is “healer number one”. And yes, as your precious family knows, cancer is real and modern medicine can help but for so many of our ailments we have lost the wisdom to know when to expect the body to “right the ship” or when to signal S.O.S. In today’s post industrial society all one needs to do is watch T.V. for 15 minutes and you might wonder how we survive one day without Big Pharma saving our lives. I am not saying become Vegan but I am saying it probably would help. Sorry for my early morning rant. Bottom line: when we forget we are walking miracles, we can easily lose sight of our North Star.
Amen! I'm nodding my head with your wisdom Clark. This is it! Big Pharma wants to take over our agency and I rarely watch TV anymore because of those commercials. I'm not going to let them educate my children thinking they need a pill for every single niggle. (There is no magic pill.) And to not trust your own body. There's my rant for this morning. :) LOL. Thank you for chiming in here Clark and being a faithful reader. I love the bottom line— "when we forget we are walking miracles, we can easily lose sight of our North Star."
'Movement will help. Laughter will help. What I say to myself matters— this is temporary, see you can move your ankle with less discomfort. This pain is not permanent.'
Isn't this really the key to getting through anything in life?: Moving, laughing and being kind to yourself
Hi Olga, Yes, I love that you pointed this out and I believe it is the way through life. Thank you for reading and chiming in. It's great to hear from you and I hope your day is off to a great start.
Running in the morning under the light of the moon!!! Yeah, I know that’s not the main theme, but wow, you must get up early! Trying to fit so much into your day? I HAVE been for walks predawn and yes it was beautiful. It’s just that it’s spring here now and I was up early to walk a neighbour’s dog and it was a cool crisp sunny morning. A lovely walk. So the thought of running in moonlight in the morning threw me. Enjoy your day or night or whatever. Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes.
Your walk sounds amazing. And how fun to have a dog alongside you Beth. Yes, I run most mornings before the sun rise and the moon is glorious. Then I get to see the sun rise...so cool. Thank you for reading and enjoy your Thursday.
Sounds wonderful. Enjoy. (Thursday is nearly over down here. Grin. So cool considering the differences in times and climates between us all.) Hugs and best wishes. 🤗🤗😘
Beautiful. Julie, you deliver such hope, love and 'I can DO this' vibes in every one of your posts. Even when things are tough you find a way. Awesome and inspirational. Thank you. 😊
Thank you for being such a faithful reader Rebecca. I'm so happy you felt this when reading this part as well. This feedback helps. I hope your week is going well.
Thanks Jules. Parents have so much to teach their children. Yours are lucky to have two fabulous parents. Never doubt your positive influence. Continue to use it wisely by showing up each and every day and doing the right thing even when it is terribly inconvenient. Convenience has its place but when it is the default mode we are all in trouble...
I can't even imagine running thru that kind of pain. I know I walk thru pain because I can limp! I know I need to walk and I love it like you love running. But running through pain? I could never do that. I really admire you. You don't let the devil stop you!
Thank you so much Claudette for reading and joining the conversation.
I knew I was safe. Pain doesn't always mean injury. I've found so much is my mindset and what I believe and think about the pain. And the more I ran the pain got better. I know it seems the opposite of what we would think...(move when I hurt?) yet I've learned 9x out of 10 movement is the best option. Keep up with your walking...that is wonderful. :)
The body knew best
How and when to heal itself
Way before doctors...

Btw, highly recommend Rich Roll’s latest podcast with Arthur C. Brooks. Enough wisdom there for all of us…🤗🙌🤗
Oh yes! He has had some great guests on! I really admire Rich Roll. Thank you. It's on my radar this week to listen in.

I hear you. Thank you for the encouragement and support...I'm gaining courage.
Wow you are so brave.
