This reminded me of my favorite hike--Abram’s Falls at Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. When you hit the trailhead, you’re instantly hit with the scent of evergreen and river mist.

Love the Forest Run. Since I don’t have such a forest at hand - only a deciduous Tennessee woods.

Tennessee Woods Walk

Bare in Winter

I appreciate the open space hidden from view when leafed out

RIvers and creeks run full on full display

Rivulets braid across the trail - glittering and slippery as ice

The sky looms large with an icy wind from the West

A Coopers Hawk on a rough branch

Pays sharp attention

We went to three falls woods a few times and really enjoyed it. That is great you have the access to the woods right by your house too! :) I'm grateful for that as well. We have a small trail behind our house with a little waterfall. It's nice to escape there.

Here near home, it would have to be Blue Mountain and Patee Canyon in Missoula, Montana. Both have such a variety of terrain and views, and I usually do these both with my Mom. Traveling, it would have to be the Rhine River path in Bad Zurzach, Switzerland, where my in laws live. So special to run a dirt path, while looking at Germany across the river. The churches, towns and old ornate bridges are amazing to see.
