What a splendid finish, Julie. The last lap was not less than a Chef's Kiss. Absolute confidence, calmness in and around and zeal to reach the mark must have taken you hours and hours of conditioning and the mental strength must have played a significant role in this achievement-cum-accomplishment. Super proud of you, Julie. 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you so much VIneet, yes the mental training was a huge piece to this race for me. I was happy I took the time to train the mental side and I believe these strategies will come in handy not only in running but in life.
I love this! I am struggling to get out there for my 3-mile run today -- and there you are sprinting your way after 47 miles! Those red inflatable finish lines -- they tease us, they beckon us. Hurray! I love the If/Then exercise. I need to work on that. Writing out my fears to challenge them or identify a solution. Go Julie!
Hi Linda! I hope you got out there today. The if/then strategy was very helpful especially because I wrote them all out. In the past, I would think about them and move on. The writing out was powerful (IMO). Once I saw them and considered how I would adapt or pivot, it wasn't so scary. I hope you give it a go. Thanks again for reading along. Happy Thursday!
I never knew how many thoughts go through a runners head but you certainly had a lot of time to gather them. 50 miles!!! Amazing Mama Moose! Loved hearing this running story.
Oh yes! They say we have many thoughts daily: runner or not, we have 60,000 a day or more?! LOL...it's wise to be aware of them. Thank you for listening along Mom.
This is so exciting! The last bit, top speed, I can feel your joy!
Thank you so much Claudette for reading along and your encouragement. It was incredible!

So so so true, Julie. So much to learn from your ongoing endeavour. You too enjoy the day, my friend. 😊

Yes, I finally got out and enjoyed the (cold) sunshine. I will try writing out fears/ self-talk. xo
Way to go Linda. You're doing awesome! Start your training. :) I will continue with you.
What an awesome finish! Congratulations.
Thank you so much Jenn! It was truly incredible.

"Go, Mama Moose, go"
Great name; a force of nature
Yay "Jewel"; better yet‼️
Thank you so much Clark for the Haiku response. I truly look forward to these each week. :) I hope your morning is off to a great start.
I'm still levitating over how you prepared and showed up and ran and so strongly finished the JFK. Another Jasmine Paris in the making?
Jasmine Paris— She's incredible! Definitely, an ultrarunner I admire and am in awe of. I do dream of moving to the mountains...
Jasmine, Courtney & Jules‼️👣‼️
I can dream! HA!
Please do. That is half the battle‼️
Woooohoooo!!! Thank you so much for letting us join you on the adventure!
