Just coming off running the NYC Half Marathon slightly injured, I agree 100% with the fact mental attitude is what you need to succeed in big time goals. It really is what we think that helps us through life's situtations. XO

This is something that I need to remember:

' I can handle being uncomfortable and not freak out. I can manage my mind and focus on moving forward.'

Ha! Richard, do you run ultras? Marathons? Curious to know. Thank you.

I run for pleasure. I was a big swimmer, but running is much easier, just shoe up and go. The taper, or a pre-meet reduction in mileage, is a well-known swimming term. I assumed runners did the same.

Oh cool! Oh yes I taper before a marathon. I'm with you, that is one thing I love about running, lace up and go wherever you are. Thank you for being here.

The stories we tell

Can move the immovable

Releasing the brakes….

Jules, reframing conventional wisdom and telling a story that “fits your specific circumstance” is all powerful.

We can be fearful and frozen in place like a mountain. But a “new story” can move us in the direction of our dreams. Add your deep love for Jeff, and you move mountains…..

How often do you

Use the “emergency brake”?

Something to ponder…

Only in extreme circumstances do we engage our car’s emergency brake. However, humans tend to live in that “state” more than not. Hard to move forward when we are in emergency mode. The analogy may not hold as we are not machines but our systems do wear out if we “keep braking”. Time to release the emergency brake & only use it when truly needed. Easier said than done? Mood Follows Action. Lace up….
