Thank you Rebecca! Yes what a great time it was. I love what you wrote "We write to explore what we seek to understand." I will add this in and when I get some more I will add to the poem and post with all collaborators. :) YAY!
This weekend I put off journaling about something that needed to be explored and put to rest. So this is perfect timing. Carving out some time today for that. Thank you!💕
Thank you Creating Ink Stains and your generous contribution. I feel this. Many blessings to you as well. Would I have your permission to add this to the poem as a collaboration?
Congratulations on 200 subscribers! I'm new here (via Rebecca Holden) and am from Asheville, NC. Despite having two Substacks, I don't consider myself a writer. 😬 But your poem has got me thinking about why I write. I'll let you know when I do! So glad to be here. :)
Thank you Kerri and I'm so glad you're here. Oh wow, my sister and her family live in Gerton, NC not far from Asheville. We were there to visit a few years ago, so fun! WE loved the area.
Such a great milestone, Julie - that's fabulous! 🥳 And I love the picture - weren't we all having a great time?! 🙌
I'd like to add this to the mix: We write to explore what we seek to understand. 🌎

Oh wow, Julie - what an absolutely gorgeous idea! 🙌
It's so fun to collaborate and happy you like the idea! :)
I love this, Rebecca!
Here’s my addition: We write to keep from drowning in the swirling eddies of runaway emotions and irrational thoughts.
Those swirling eddies are a nightmare, Holly - yes to writing our way out of those!
I echo what Rebecca said! YES! And thank you Holly to adding to the poem. :)
“We write because our wild mind needs
a place to rest. We face ourselves on paper.”

Good morning Holly! I'm so happy to hear this resonated and thank you for reading and chiming in.
I write to overcome the crippling fears that I have accumulated over the years of being in an abusive relationship, and to re-discover myself.
What a wonderful milestone - congratulations. Many blessings

Absolutely and thank you for your kind words.
You're so welcome. Take good care.
