Sights & Sounds I spy two cardinals darting to and fro— Vivid behind the bare branches. Double glow. I spot seven geese twirling on high Honks echo— Tenors in the sky. I see one gray squirrel scurry under a pine tree. Cheek full of delicious nuts. The only sound he’s making— Crunch. Crunch.

Oh this was so fun to read! Beautiful portrait of morning’s glory! Thank you!
Ooh...a cardinal sighting - that's pretty cool.
This morning I heard the gentle drip, drip, drip of snow and ice melting away in the warming temperatures. I watched the drips fall into the swollen creek...and I wondered where that water would eventually flow. Will it make it to the Rhine? The Atlantic? Or would it flow into another side creek? Would it turn into tomorrow's fog...or next week's rain? Would it return to this very spot...or has it vanished, never to return? Drip, drip, drip...and on I went.
