Jules, thanks for the John Muir quote and your precious poem. Modern man/woman live in their heads, divorced from Nature, their real family tree. Once we rediscover our true “nature” , a daily walk in the woods could change the world. Meditation, yoga, can help one “get it”…..
You're so welcome Clark! I agree, could you imagine if everyday there was a break to the woods...if every company/business implemented that policy. How different a world.
Always love your poems! I could climb a mountain in my dreams, but not in real life. Still like wandering around the yard though. We did some trimming of the trees today so we are ready for whatever comes now.
Hi Faith, Oh I love this...keep climbing those mountains in your dreams. :) Oh yes, winter will be coming our way, happy to still enjoy these fall days though.
How wonderful to see and ponder your thoughts today. I picture you and John Muir setting out on a hike through the forest, identifying species and hugging some trees along the way.
Earlier in life, my weeks in the woods resulted from backpacking treks, usually of a week’s duration. From treks that began in a downpour (hence the accumulated rain gear) to others with fabulous vistas and still others in biting winter conditions, all afforded the chance to embrace the woods and feel one with same.
Thanks so much for a delightful memory jog! Any trees in your day today? Regardless, I believe you’ll shape the day to support your Heart and being. 🏃♀️
I loved what you imagined here...how cool would that be to hang out with John Muir! :) Your treks sound wonderful and something I would love to do again in the future. Weeks at a time in the woods sounds delightful right now.
Yes, lots of hickory trees today. I stepped on several hickory nuts and almost fell on my bottom! LOL
HI Amie! It's so great to hear from you. You've been on my mind and I'm happy you can head to the trail today...I would love to know what you see in the dessert. (cacti?)
Please travel within
Discover you are nature
Now, walk in the woods…

I saw a meme this morning that said (paraphrasing): On the day you were born a tree sprouted and has been growing right along with you.
I don’t know if it’s true, but I love the thought of it!
Good morning Gail!
Oh I love this. What a beautiful thought. Thank you for chiming in. :) It's always a joy.
😊
A beautiful post, Julie, and a fabulous homage to Muir's legacy! 🍁
Thank you Rebecca, He is someone I would have loved to meet.
Me too! 😊

Lurking under the leaves! Treachery to be sure. There’s a time that saying “Bottoms up” is fitting...
YES! HA! Thank you for the laugh..."bottoms up"...too funny. My balance is rock solid. :)
That would be so awesome!
But due to her sleep disability, she can only do things at night. Like after 11pm
oh wow! Well I guess a midnight stroll under the stars isn't a bad idea...
This has me rethinking my day. Beautiful poem!❤️
Oh goodie! :) I hope you can get out in the woods or on a trail. Thank you. xoxo
You just inspired me to hit the trail! No autumn leaves or woods here in the desert, but I’ll find something to be grateful for.

Had to share this with my other Julie this morning. ❤️ wish you could meet each other!
Oh I'm so glad you did! I wish we could meet each other too. Maybe there is a weekend we could all meet in the woods together. :)
