I wanted to read a book about a runner’s experience in the JFK 50-miler race, which inspired me to start my next book.

So here I am, with over 25,000 words in, and I’m convincing myself to keep going.
Sit down and write.

Turn off your phone and write.

Coffee is brewing, peanut butter energy bites are ready, and colorful index cards with encouraging quotes and mantras surround me.

Go, Julie! Good for you for writing about your 50-miler! Writing IS a sport - dig deep, shake hands with the hill, set a good pace! I'm cheering you on! The inner critic committee (which is a great idea for an illustration - may I?) can take a hike or a back seat, depending on their energy level. :-)
