Go, Julie! Good for you for writing about your 50-miler! Writing IS a sport - dig deep, shake hands with the hill, set a good pace! I'm cheering you on! The inner critic committee (which is a great idea for an illustration - may I?) can take a hike or a back seat, depending on their energy level. :-)
Thanks for the thumbs up on the inner critic committee idea! I also like the idea of wavey encouragement for one of my Post-It Notes, if I may - again - use your words!
Literally food for thought and fuel for writing. This is great, Julie. Not only is writing a sport, so is life, with the final miles being some of the hardest, but potentially the most rewarding.
You have encouraged me to undertake the writing of a book as well. And since I still have both mind and body intact, I will endure until the end... Thank You Jules‼️
It will truly be an ultra marathon of grit and endurance as I attempt my "moon shot" and attempt to qualify for the Boston Marathon at age 80. The book will narrate all that must come together, physically, mentally, philosophically and emotionally for this to happen. I may be the only one interested in reading it. Lol.
I feel every word of this! And your energy!
Hi Amie,
Thank you for reading and your message. :) We're in this together. Glad we're runners.

Oh, I love this, Mary B! "hike or a back seat, depending on their energy level" so good.
Yes I would love to see what you create from this. :) Thank you so much for your encouragement. Remembering, it comes in waves.

Hi Ruth! Isn't that the truth? Thank you for writing this. I consider my training for ultras as my training for life. :)
Yes! So many lessons there!
