Lovely poem beautifully read, Julie! Thank you! The active side of my own life is for similar reasons to yours: I call it 'future proofing'. Taking care of our bodies and minds is so important, and it's great to get the miles in NOW - metaphorical as well as physical - as an investment for our future!

Thank you Rebecca! I love this idea of "future proofing". Very cool and I agree 100%. We are worth it!

I like to run to clear out all the non-sense bombarding my mind - it's a time for me to embrace thought-minimalism and allow nature to take me in and reveal to me whatever she decides...a bird...a frog...a leaf...decay...pollution...light...an old tree...a new tree. It is a time of endless fascination!

Jack I hear you! My time to unplug and just be with nature. Thank you for sharing— I love what you wrote "time of endless fascination" YES! Maybe a poem idea. :)

I spotted a beautiful little female kingfisher earlier today...endless fascination!

Have you ever considered starting a chat to encourage people (like me) to upload photos of interesting sightings during a run - I bet this would turn into a rich harvesting ground for further poems...

wow! That's amazing. I have not considered that Jack and a wonderful idea. I have an Iphone 6 and unable to download the Substack app. I do believe I need this to open a chat...is that correct? (I wonder if a thread is another option?) I'm still learning the ins/outs of this platform.

I think the only option for others to upload images is through chat on the Substack app... You try putting a question out there on the Substack Writer Office Hours - there is a session this evening https://on.substack.com/p/writer-office-hours/comments
