My children and I just finished the book The Bark of the Bog Owl by Jonathan Rogers. There are two lines the author repeats throughout the book that I don’t want to forget.
You got what it takes.
Live the life that unfolds before you.
How many times do we doubt?
How many times do we question what is in front of us?
For me, this is a daily fight against the enemy who wants me to believe that I don’t have what it takes. The enemy wants to keep me in worry and fear instead of living life well with the bit I do see.
Maybe you’re going through something or wondering if you have what it takes. I’m here cheering you on— You got what it takes. Live the life you can see in front of you—as well as you can—and you will be ready for whatever happens next.
Take good care,
Julie
I’m curious, what is something you don’t want to forget about the last book you read? Would love to know. Please share in the comments or reply to this email.
Inspirit Ignore the enemy who thrives on fear, who thrives on sneaking around. Tossing me in worry and comparison— a thief in the night. You got what it takes a whisper, soft and low a song of love hums, lifts me up. You got what it takes I'm not alone. I've got what it takes with God alone.
It was a pleasure to write with Rebecca, Sharon, and Karen on Friday. Thank you so much for joining me. We will meet again this Friday at 11 am (EST) to write together. I hope to see you if it works with your schedule.
That life is messy, which is the title of the book. The tittle alone is a powerful statement because it teaches us to lower our expectations of the perfect versions of what we think our life should be like. I think Facebook and all the other social platforms have caused us to do the compare game and put way unrealistic expectations on ourselves. But guess what? Life is messy! We may not post about our mess but we all have it in one area or another. When we exclusively only put on our social media just our touched up, airbrushed selves and homes we are turning our Facebook into Fakebook. Let’s be moré transparent and real because Life is messy.
I am no longer on FB so I am glad I get your messages in my email. I love what you write every day!! Love you!!!
