A blessing, or a curse? Can't tell.

Roots on the trail...
1

Hey! So I’m new to trail running and I’m not sure yet about all the roots. During last Saturday’s run, I didn’t fall but I had plenty of trips and stumbles.

A blessing or a curse? I don’t know yet.

What I do know is the trails are challenging me to slow down and pay attention. Both of which I want to do more of in this season. The blessing, the unexpected gift from the roots on the trail.

How about you? What do you want more of? Share with me in the comments below.

Poem of the Day:

        WILD AND FREE

Reckless runner
coming through
I’m new on the trails—
have no idea what
I’m getting myself into

The woods are great
The pine needles too
But boy are these
Roots slowing me down
Higher than you think
Sticking way up from the ground

Lift your knees
Pay attention
You don’t want to fall in the mud
Get those sneakers over the root
Or you’ll land with a thud

Roots rule the trail
An obstacle each run
Trip stumbles
Won’t stop me
I respect what I’m
Up against
I say
Run wild and free
