Lovely Julia... and maybe it’s not as hard work as we all think? Perhaps we just “allow” the April showers to wash away those pesky weeds that block the “seeds of joy” that “already exists” in each one of us. Perhaps less “weeding” and more “forgiving”? Once we get into the practice of forgiving (ourselves & others) our joyful seeds may germinate in ways we can’t even imagine. All the “greats”teach forgiveness. Perhaps it’s time for mankind to finally learn...

This is great wisdom Clark thank you so much. I love the thought of "allow" April showers to wash away those pesky weeds. Yes forgive such a gift we give ourselves.

I agree! Forgive is essential! Forgive and forget!

Well but don't forget so much that you fall for the abuse again and again.

Forgive but be wise.

A great metaphor, Julie! I’ve been in the garden a lot recently - I’ve been trying to remind myself that weeds are just flowers in the wrong place! 🤣

Oh I like this! "Weeds are flowers in the wrong place!" LOL This conversation with you all has me thinking an edit to this poem is a good idea. :) Love this space.

Well, like anything else really, I suppose it all depends on which lenses we view them through. Today I'm clearly feeling optimistic! 🌱

I would only add that it's also important to understand weeds - sometimes, even the weeds blossom into beautiful flowers that help the bees and birds... I guess I'm speaking from experience that life becomes too stressful when we're trying to clear all the weeds and forget the vital role some of them may play in our life...

I'm also enjoying the comments...

Just a further note, most people consider dandelions a weed, but consider this…they are quite possibly the most nutrionally-dense plant on the planet, and yet people spend a lot of money each year to drench them in chemicals. It's a good example of what we consider weeds vs. what's beneficial...

Yes, I won't rant about these chemicals here. We love the dandelions and let them grow and grow all over were we live. :) The yellow is gorgeous and makes me smile. It's sad that others don't feel the same.

Hi Faith, Thank you so much for reading and I've found it to be helpful in my life...some weeds do longer serve us or are outdated. :)

Btw, I just happened to listen to Dr.Mark Hyman’s latest podcast with David Asprey who discusses a “forgiveness “ technique in the last 10 minutes of the hour podcast (Doctors Farmacy). I found it fascinating and doable.
