Dirt Trail

Poem Out Loud
landscape photography of trees
Photo by Max Welt on Unsplash
Loop in the woods
Dirt trail beneath
Mighty Oaks
Vibrant Evergreens
Look!
A Hawk
glides the treetops
Wings outstretched
High fiving as
She soars.

Lookup
Swing arms
Look around
Dart the rocks
Eyes spot—
Woodpecker!
Crimson head
Drum, drum, drum
How could I miss
Her teaching as I run—
Open my mind.
